Double Digits

My oldest child, Jake, turned 10 on Friday.  He was so excited to be "double digits."  He had a great birthday, filled with family, friends, a party, and homemade key lime pie (his favorite).  He seemed to grow so much between 9 and 10 years – he doesn't look or act like a little kid anymore.  As a mom, part of me wants to cry that he is growing up so quickly and the other part is just so proud of what an amazing, smart and kind boy he is.

He hates having his picture taken, but I think he was just so excited for his birthday and his new skateboard, that he indulged me a little.  Usually, he sticks his tongue out every time I turn the camera his way, but I actually was able to capture his real smile.

Holiday Deadlines

I am sorry I have not posted much lately – I have just been bogged down with the holiday rush.  But, I wanted to touch base with everyone about holiday deadlines.  Please have all holiday card orders in by this Monday, December 8th.  Also, I know many of you like to give custom photographs as gifts to grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.  Please have all print orders, including accordion wallet orders, in by Friday, December 12th in order to receive them for the holidays.

I have had a wonderful year, photographing and spending time with your families.  Thank you for letting me capture these special times in your families' lives – it is truly a pleasure.  I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year!

I couldn't post without adding some favorites photos from recent shoots…

Kids Kids Kids

I feel lucky to have photographed this family for so long and to have watched them grow from one to three children.  They actually remind me of my own kids, one boy and two girls, and nutty when they are together! My favorites of the family are the very last photographs taken – when everyone is laughing and the girls are hanging upside down.
