Debbie's Dream { south florida event photographer }

You have heard me talk about Debbie's Dream before.  It is a charitable foundation founded by my friend, Debbie Zelman Guttman, a wonderful woman and mother who was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer last year.  I am lucky to be a part of Debbie's Dream, as the official photographer, and am thrilled anytime I can help her out. Friday night, Debbie was honored by Dr. Charles Lago of the Colon & Rectal Clinic of Fort Lauderdale and Westside Regional Medical Center with a Humanitarian Award for her work with Crohn's & Colitis Foundation and with her own foundation, Debbie's Dream.  After photographing the event last night, I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about Debbie and why she is such an inspiration to me.  Debbie has been forced to face her worst fears, but instead of crumbling, she has survived.  I feel like she has looked at cancer in the face and said, "Too bad, you can't have me."  She has decided that she is here to stay - for her children, her husband, her family and herself.    Not only is she an amazing mother and person, but she is a smart businesswoman who has created this foundation to fund stomach cancer research.  It is already a success, raising over $35,000 and attracting national and local doctors to her medical board.   I can't wait to see everything she can do, and am excited to be here to document it for her.

The event Friday night was great - there also was a silent auction benefitting Debbie's Dream.  Wayne brought the SmileyBooth to the event to raise some additional money for Debbie's Dream, and he got some fun photos of Debbie and her family while he was there!

Here are some photos of Debbie at the event with her family and friends.  She looks wonderful!  She even made sure to get a photo with she and I (so sweet!).   If you would like to support Debbie's Dream, as a volunteer, by donating to a silent auction or by making a monetary donation, please visit www.debbiesdream.org
